Teletherapy

Teletherapy

IMG_6416Me and a client, well, the top of his head, working hard.

I gave up my ‘brick and mortar’ office a long time ago, using Skype and in home service instead. Both my clients and I prefer the privacy, and lower overhead, that this arrangement allows. Having to drive, park, wait in a waiting room…all of those things are now gone.

Becoming the mainstream in counseling these days is teletherapy, allowing the client and counselor to stay in touch in a more immediate and intimate basis. ‘Check-ins’ occur twice daily or as needed, text me anything between 8-5 and I’m there for you, offering support no matter where you are. Thirty minute video sessions are also available, usually within 24 hrs of requesting.

Rebekah Svensson, from the website Awkward but Healthy, describes in this personal piece why she’s committed to teletherapy HERE ~
